“I will lend you, for a little time, a child of mine, He said…And should her stay be brief, you’ll have her beautiful memories, as solace for your grief.” -Edgar Guest
On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Ali Nicole Elliott, 17, of Nichols was chosen by God to enter the kingdom of heaven. She entered the world eleven minutes before her twin brother, Tillman, and she always reminded him she was the oldest. She was born in Florence on December 17, 2008, the daughter of Anthony and Phyllis Baxley Elliott. From the very beginning, she shared an unbreakable bond with her parents and her brother.
Ali brought an extraordinary amount of light, love, and laughter into every room she entered. She had a contagious laugh and smile that could brighten the darkest day and a heart full of kindness for everyone she met. A Senior at Green Sea Floyds High School, she was a member of both the softball and volleyball teams. To her teammates, she was a constant source of encouragement. Ali loved spending time outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting. She also had a passion for beauty, style, and the ability to make others feel good about themselves. Her future plans included becoming a cosmetologist, and she was excited about beginning her internship. Ali used her many positive attributes as a way to serve her Lord. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and also enjoyed the fellowship with the youth group at Green Sea Baptist Church.
Ali was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Maxie Wayne Elliott and her maternal grandparents, Rudy and Sheila Baxley.
She is survived by her loving parents, Anthony and Phyllis Elliott; her twin brother, Tillman Elliott (Emma Kate Gore); her grandmother, Connie Elliott; aunts, Kimberly Stetson and her children, Kevin, Amber, Peyton, Emily, and Adam and Karen Hayes and her children, Bryson and Alexis and her son, Kai; godparents, Maxie Dozier and Donna Lupo; special friend, Jonathan Hucks, and many other close friends and teammates.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2026, at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. A service to celebrate Ali’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2026, in the gymnasium of Green Sea Floyds High School. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
If you would like to honor Ali, the family suggests that donations be made to the Ali Elliott Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Green Sea Floyds High School, 4990 Tulip Grove Road, Green Sea, South Carolina 29545. An online guestbook is available at www.mearesfh.com.
