Ketchuptown

Obituary

Alice Faye Hill Atkinson, 71, of the Ketchuptown community of Nichols, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Mullins on July 20, 1953, the daughter of the late Robert Lee Hill and the late Sally Janie Stroud Hill.

Faye was a loving and devoted mother to her son, Andrew. They shared a close bond, and she was always there to offer her love, support, and encouragement in whatever he did. Her caring nature was also evident by the way she always kept her home in order. Her home was a source of pride for her. Faye loved animals and the unconditional love they brought. She will be fondly remembered for her dedication to having a beautiful garden every year. She enjoyed preserving the vegetables she grew through canning, making sure that her family and friends could enjoy vegetables year round. Faye also had a passion for the tobacco fields of her community having set out many plants in her lifetime. She found peace in watching the plants grow and the beauty of the land.

In addition to her parents, Faye was predeceased by her stepfather, Kenneth Gordon Gerrald, her husband, Ronnie Rowell, and a brother, Robert Levone Hill.

She is survived by her son, Robert Andrew Atkinson of Ketchuptown; a close friend and caregiver, Megan Stroud and her daughter, Kaylee Bryant, who was like a grandchild, and close friends and neighbors, Marc and Dana Warren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2025 in the sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Nichols.
