Alice Louise Williams Bass, 96, of Mullins passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at MUSC Health Mullins Nursing Center. She was born in Marion County on March 7, 1926, the daughter of the late John Benjamin Williams and the late Alice Foxworth Williams.

Louise was a graduate of Mullins High School and had attended Coker College. She was a faithful member of Macedonia United Methodist Church, where she showed her dedication both in attendance and in service. She taught Sunday School there for several decades and was very effective in teaching others about God's Word through her tremendous knowledge of the Bible.  Her service to her Lord and Savior began at an early age as she served as the Director of the Methodist Youth Caravan Program across South Carolina.

Louise held a variety of jobs while growing up and living in the Mullins community. She had worked with the Headstart Program, SOPAKCO, and the Council on Aging, but it was her time working at Walmart that brought her the most satisfaction. While employed at Walmart, she was a four-time award winner for her hard work and dedicated service to the company.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Carlisle Bass.

She is survived by two cousins, Linda Ann Legette Moore of Hartsville and Harvey C. "Scooter" Legette of Lehigh Acres, Florida, and by her many friends at Macedonia United Methodist Church in Mullins, SC.

A celebration of Ms. Louise's life is being planned for a date to be announced likely in early March.

If you would like to remember Louise, she asked that memorials be made to the Macedonia Methodist Men's Fellowship, 402 North Main Street, Mullins, South Carolina 29574 to help them continue to do emergency house repairs and build wheelchair ramps for those in need.
