Andy Franklin Strickland, 71, of Nichols, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2020 at MUSC Health Marion Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Mullins on December 10, 1948, the son of the late Jack Austin Strickland and the late Frankie M. Haynes Strickland.

Andy enjoyed working with his hands, and he never let the fact that he was a paraplegic slow him down.  His hobbies included woodworking, gardening and raising springer spaniels.  A man of great faith, he loved his Lord and Savior and is now with him and his beloved son, Austin.  Andy was a wonderful person who always had a smile on his face.  He loved his family and especially Earnestine, his wife of 48 years.

In addition to his parents, Andy was predeceased by his son, Jack Austin Strickland.

He is survived by his wife, Earnestine; a daughter, Sherry Strickland (Aaron) Varela of Nichols; brother, Robert Earl Strickland of Mullins, a sister, Joan Strickland of Tucson, Arizona, and two grandchildren, Austin G. Strickland and Samantha Strickland Varela, both of Nichols.

A private graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols.
