Obituary

Nichols-

Annell Walker Brown, 93, began her life in eternity on February 28, 2016. She was born on March 9, 1922, in Wilmington, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Harry Lee Walker, Sr. and Grace Gloria King Walker. Annell was best known as an adoring and loving caregiver to her family. She will be remembered forever as a truly caring wife, mother, and grandmother.

Annell was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Ben Brown, Sr., her son, Ben Brown, Jr., nine brothers and sisters, and her son-in-law, Joe Turbeville.

Leaving behind to honor and cherish her memory are her two daughters, Sandra Brown Turbeville of Irmo, S.C. and Patty Ann Brown of Nichols; her daughter-in-law, Sue Page Brown of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren, Kelly Turbeville Burney, Page Brown Abernethy, Ashley Wiggins Smoak, and Benjamin Brown, III; nine (soon to be ten!) great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016 in the Fellowship Hall of Nichols Baptist Church. The service honoring Annell and celebrating a life well lived will begin following the visitation at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church directed by Meares Funeral Home.

If you would like to remember Annell, the family suggests that memorials be made in her memory to Nichols Baptist Church, P.O. Box 148, Nichols, South Carolina 29581.
