Nichols- Barbara Ann Godfrey Jones, 79, of Nichols died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Daniel and Grace Hayes Godfrey. Barbaras love for children led her to become a teacher. She taught in the public school system mainly as a fourth grade teacher at Loris Elementary and a teacher of Gods word to the children in the Sunday School at Wannamaker Baptist Church, but it was her love for her children and grandchildren that she will be most remembered. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Henry Jones, a brother, Spurgeon Lothair Godfrey, and a daughter-in-law, Roxanne Jones. She is survived by three sons, Lothair Jones, Glenn Jones, and Kurt (Sally) Jones all of Nichols and two grandchildren, Ryan and Logan Jones. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2013 in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home with burial at Riverside Cemetery.
