Betty Joyce Jenkins, 80, of Marion passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at McLeod Hospice House. She was born in Marion County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late James Ralph Jenkins and the late Nannie Marie Hinson Jenkins.

Betty spent many years as a member of the resident program at Marion-Dillon County Disabilities and Special Needs. The family is so appreciative of the loving care and support that they provided Betty through the many years she was there. Although Betty possessed disabilities, she was one of life's greatest teachers. She taught others about patience and perseverance. She was full of life and cared deeply for her family and friends and iced tea. She will be greatly missed by everyone who was blessed to have known her.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by two brothers, James Randall "Joe" Jenkins and Charlie Jenkins, and a sister, Annette McLellan.

She is survived by a brother, Ray Jenkins and his wife, Debbie of Florence; a sister, Miriam Allen of Mullins; several nieces, and a special cousin, Nancy Hammond of Spring Branch.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Powell Cemetery in Fair Bluff, North Carolina. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
