Betty worked as the Deputy Clerk of Court for Marion County for many years. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stephen Godbold Miles III, an infant daughter, Stephanie Miles, a son, Stephen Godbold Miles IV "Pete", a sister, Margie Brown Altman, and two brothers, Bob Brown and Francis Brown.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane Miles Snowden (Stewart) of Mullins; a daughter-in-law, Cleesie Berry Miles of Divide, Colorado; two grandchildren, Marry Hannah Miles of Denver, Colorado and Charles Stephen Miles of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three brothers, L.D. "Brownie" Brown (Barbara) of Mullins, Burnette Brown of Florida, and Paul Brown (Gloria) of Lake City, along with many nieces and nephews.
