Betty Jean Lee Petrick, 82, of Nichols, South Carolina passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, December 10 ^th 2018. Mrs. Petrick is survived by her beloved husband of over fifty years, Maynard "Pete" Petrick of Nichols; three sons Scott (Susan) Petrick, of Lynchburg, VA, Randall (Lynn) Petrick of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Allan Petrick of Georgetown, SC; one daughter Pamela (Frederick Howard II) Allen of Nichols, SC; Two brothers, Gerry (Marie) Lee of Maryland, and David (Rhonda) Lee of Union, SC; a sister Gwen (Larry) Williams of Buffalo, SC; ten grandchildren Nick, Kristina, Joseph, Jacqueline, Diana, Carolyn Petrick, Tiffany Burkhalter, Frederick Howard III (Krystal), Gabriel, and Alyssa Allen; and four great-grand children, Kailan, Jackson, Benjamin, and Paisley.

Betty was born in Spartanburg, SC on October 1 ^st , 1936; daughter of the late Vernon Lee and Essie Lavonia Hipp Lee. She married the love of her life, Pete Petrick, on December 30 ^th 1967. Betty was always a natural care giver and her passion led her to pursue a career in the medical field. Her career began when she attended Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing. After many fulfilling years of practicing, she retired as the Chief Surgical Nurse at Conway Hospital in SC. She'll be remembered as woman of great faith, Betty was proud to be involved at Cedar Creek Baptist Church where she was a member with her husband, Pete. Betty was a talented pianist and loved playing her favorite hymns on the organ. She also enjoyed cooking, quilting, reading, and gardening. Family was precious to Betty and she cherished the time she spent making memories with her loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 13 ^th , 2018 at Meares Funeral Home of Mullins. Funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm, following visitation, in the chapel at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Frederick Allen III, Gabriel Allen, Nick Petrick, Blake Ward, Neal Lee, and Travis Williams. Interment will directly follow at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols, SC.
