Nichols- Betty Jean Shelley, 78, died Saturday, January, 28, 2012 at the Carriage House in Florence. She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Austin Shelley and the late Johnnie Mishoe Shelley Small. Ms. Shelley was predeceased by six brothers, Lacy Woodrow Shelley, James C. Shelley, Reuben Elson Shelley, Jack Lavern Shelley, Jerry Austin Shelley, and an infant brother, Pelton Shelley, and five sisters, Marie Graham, Janice Morton, Florence Dohmann, Zetha Collins, and an infant sister, Molly Shelley. She is survived by one sister, Elnita Plaisance of Monroe, Louisiana and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
