Bobbie Gasque, 74, of Loris passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at McLeod Seacoast Hospital. She was born in Marion County on April 22, 1947, the daughter of the late John Leon Gasque, Sr. and the late Myrtle Hood Gasque.

An avid reader, Bobbie was fond of a variety of authors and subjects.  She found a true passion in immersing herself in a good book.  Animals also found a very special place in her heart as she truly loved the creatures God put before her.  A member of the Red Hat Club, Bobbie thoroughly enjoyed being with friends, partaking of a good meal and socializing with those she held dear.  Her family was her most important treasure and she treasured intimate outings with her loved ones and kindred.  Prior to her declining health, she enjoyed worshiping at Langston Baptist Church as this brought her joy and a closeness to her Lord and Savior.  Bobbie was accomplished in the true art of crocheting and left many delicate works for others to remember.  A woman of her word, she was renowned to do anything for you at any time with an absolute loving heart. She retired from the Department of Social Services after 29 years of service.

In addition to her parents, Bobbie was predeceased by a brother, J. Leon Gasque, Jr. and two sisters, Emily Ann Gasque Williams and Jean Carol Gasque Hilton.

She is survived by a son, John Stroud and his wife, Lindsay of Loris and two grandchildren, Dalton and Claire Stroud.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion with Reverend John Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
