Obituary

Bobbie Causey McKenzie, 87, of Nichols passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at MUSC Mullins Nursing Center. She was born in Horry County on June 6, 1933, the daughter of the late Alva Leneau Causey and the late Retha McDaniel Causey.

Bobbie spent many years working alongside her late husband, Bobby, at their family business in Nichols, McKenzie's IGA. Upon the birth of her grandchildren, she chose to stay at home and keep them while her children worked. Her family brought her great joy. Bobbie enjoyed working with the flowers in her yard and was a member of Nichols Baptist Church. She was a strong woman and her faith in God allowed her to be able to face what no mother should have to face, the passing of both of her beloved children and a grandchild. She is now reunited with her beloved family in her heavenly home.

In addition to her parents, Bobbie was predeceased by her husband, Bobby F. McKenzie, her daughter, Debbie McKenzie Anderson, a son, Ricky McKenzie, and a grandson, Hunter Chase McKenzie.

She is survived by two brothers, Gene Causey (Margaret) and Kenneth Causey, both of Florence; a sister, Betty Jo Draper of Richmond, Virginia; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn McKenzie of Asheville, North Carolina, a special niece, Cathy Jennings of Myrtle Beach, a son-in-law, Barry Anderson of Nichols; special friends, Emily Johnson and Bob Hill, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. We respectfully request that you wear a mask and practice social distancing while in the presence of others.

If you would like to remember Bobbie, the family suggests that memorials be made in her memory to Nichols Baptist Church, P.O. Box 148, Nichols, South Carolina 29581.
