Bobby Mitchell Stroud, age 68, of Green Sea, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born May 16, 1958, in Loris, he was the son of the late Joe Cephus Stroud and the late Dorothy Grainger Stroud.

Mitchell grew up as a hardworking man who was devoted to his family and his work. He was a graduate of Green Sea High School. Mitchell was always ready to help anyone in need. He was a good man with a heart of gold.

He is survived by the love of his life, Melanie; four children, Joseph Stroud (Rae), Adam Stroud (Danielle), J.R. Ham (Ashlyn), and Ashley Tiller (Hampton); eight grandchildren, Kelan, Gia, Naomi, Eli, Palmer, Grant, Holden, and Jovie; a sister, Pat Floyd; brothers, John Stroud (Pam) and David Stroud (Pam), and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Stroud and the man who was like a father to him, Mutt McDaniels.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Kevin Garris officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols.
