Brenda Joyce Jolly Dolsey, 81, of Suffolk, Virginia passed away peacefully at Maryview Medical Center in Virginia. She was born in Horry County on July 3, 1940, the daughter of the late James David Jolly and the late Georgia Irene Lewis Jolly.

Brenda, along with her daughter, owned and operated a tanning salon. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and watching North Carolina Tar Heels sports. Brenda loved pretty jewelry and flowers. The love of her life and her guardian angel was her dog, Buddy.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was predeceased by the father of her children, Johnny Anderson, her husband, Frankie Carter, her late husband, Yale Dolsey, and a son, Michael Anderson.

She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Johnson and her husband, Jim of Chesapeake, Virginia; a special cousin, Gayle Fowler of Mullins; several stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren, as well as many other cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Nichols. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
