Brenda Hammond Stroud, 69, of Greenville and formerly of Nichols, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 31, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina. Brenda was born in Mullins on August 23, 1950, the daughter of the late Austin Hammond and Lois Hinson.

Brenda was a registered nurse for twenty years and helped bring many babies into the world. She enjoyed sewing, spending time with her family and reading. She was a loving wife and mother, and she will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her husband, Paul Vincent Stroud.

She is survived by her daughters, Heather Stroud Ludlam (Charles) of Surfside Beach, Hope Stroud Heath (Andrew) of Greenville, and Jessica Stroud Wible of Greenville; her grandchildren, Brenna Paul Ludlam, Tessa Marie Wible, and Caleigh Grace Ludlam, as well as a brother, Austin "Tommy" Hammond.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Stroud Cedar Creek Cemetery in Nichols directed by Meares Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
