Pastor Franklin Bruce Elliott, 80, of Nichols passed away peacefully on Friday June 24, 2016 at his home. He was born in Horry County, the son of the late Franklin and Lorie Small Elliott. A Godly and caring man, it was his faith that brought he and his wife, Shelby, to start a church, Floyds Freewill Baptist Church, in the Duford Community of Nichols. He read his Bible daily and although he faced many trials in life, his faith never wavered. He loved to fish and work around his farm, but it was his family that brought the most smiles especially his granddaughters, Brittany and Meagan.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Shelby Jean Elliott; a son, Danny Ray Elliott; three brothers, Thelbert, Clyde, and Ben Elliott, and two sisters, Leta Belle Barfield and Annette Elliott.

Mr. Elliott is survived by two sons, Franklin Dale Elliott and Randall Dean (Toni) Elliott, both of Nichols; one brother, Elbert Elliott of Nichols; two sisters, Linda Faye (Larry) Herring and Anita Elliott, both of Nichols; and his precious granddaughters, Brittany Kay Elliott and Meagan Faith Elliott.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at Floyds Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jack Strickland officiating.

If you would like to remember Mr. Elliott, the family suggests that memorials be made to Floyds Freewill Baptist Church, 6441 Three Bend Road, Nichols, South Carolina 29581.
