Clifton Wilson "Butch" Collins, Jr., 75, of Florence, passed away peacefully at McLeod Hospice House on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 following a period of declining health. He was born in Marion County on December 31, 1948, the son of the late Clifton Wilson Collins, Sr., and the late Lillie Pearl Floyd Collins.

Butch graduated from the University of South Carolina and had a fulfilling career as a sales representative for Reynolds Tobacco Company. As a way to relax, Butch enjoyed fishing. He especially enjoyed fishing with his son, Clifton and loved the sense of accomplishment when he caught one. Butch loved his family and especially family gatherings with good food. His grandchildren were the greatest gift his heart had ever known. He simply adored them.

In addition to his parents, Butch was predeceased by an infant daughter, Kelly Lynn Collins, a brother, Floyd Michael "Mike" Collins and his wife, Libby, and a sister-in-law, Wanda Collins.

He is survived by a son, Clifton Collins III and his wife, Leigh of Florence; a daughter, Sally Michael Collins Allen and her husband, Andrew of Aynor; five grandchildren, Clifton Hoyt Collins, Joseph Graham Collins, Gillian Rebecca Collins, Andrew Allen, Jr. and Sydney Allen; brothers, Darrell Glenn Collins of Clayton, North Carolina and Timothy Erroll Collins and his wife, Millie of Florence,  a sister, Catherine Collins Erwin and her husband, Alvin of Pamplico.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery in Nichols. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
