Carolyn Kay
Poff
Dec 18, 1946 — Apr 29, 2022
Mullins
Carolyn Kay Poff, 75, of Mullins passed away peacefully into the arms of her waiting Savior on Friday, April 29, 2022 with her beloved niece, Donna, by her side. She was born in Miami County, Indiana on December 18, 1946, the daughter of the late Raymond Franklin Poff and the late Lois Marguerite Elliott Poff.
Carolyn was a gentle kind-hearted soul who enjoyed the simple things in life. Although she was born and raised in Indiana, eighteen years ago she found a new home in Mullins, South Carolina. She always said it was the best decision she ever made. Fond of any kind of sports, she especially loved basketball and was always so excited to be able to watch March Madness. A huge South Carolina Gamecock fan, she also enjoyed cheering them on in whatever sport they were playing. Another favorite pastime of hers was reading and watching television with most likely a Coke in her hand. She fought the good fight as she dealt with her declining health the past two years. While we will miss her, we are so thankful she has been given a new body in Christ, and that she no longer suffers.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by two brothers, Loren Poff and Allen Poff as well as her sister and Donna's mother, Shirley Jean Ulmer.
She is survived by two nieces, Donna Kirkland of Mullins and Barbara Michael (Chuck) of Noblesville, Indiana; four great-nieces, Brittany Page (Chad) of Mullins and their children, Austin and Kinley, Brooke Kirkland of Marion, Laurin Michael and Allie Michael, both of Noblesville, Indiana; her brother-in-law, Marvin Ulmer (Georgia) of Youngstown, Florida; a close friend, Greg Agans of Mullins, and two very special dogs in her life, Molly and Iggy.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022 in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home with her very dear friend and nephew by marriage, Reverend Jim Kirkland, and Reverend Mack Marsh officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
The family would like to thank McLeod Hospice for the support they have shown the family and for the love and comforting care they provided Carolyn in the last few weeks.
