Green Sea

Obituary

Chance Britt Huggins, 16, of Green Sea passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, from injuries he received in an automobile accident. He was born in Loris, South Carolina on March 9, 2009, the son of Michael Huggins and Nikki King Huggins.

Chance was a rising junior at Green-Sea Floyds High School. He was looking forward to starting a new school year and making plans for his future. A kind and considerate young man, Chance was known for his love of hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, and hanging out with his friends. He could often be found tending to the yard on his lawnmower or tinkering on cars. He had a special connection with his dogs, Molly, Max, and Doodle Bug and the unconditional love they brought. Chance's love for his family and friends was indisputable and his smile would light up the room. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, friend, and though he has left this world, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to have known him.

Chance was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Richard Faircloth, an aunt, Martha King, and uncles, Glen King, Derrick Sarvis, and Kevin Strickland.

He is survived by his loving parents, Michael Huggins and Nikki King Huggins; sister, Savanah "Devin" Huggins; maternal grandmother, "Bon Bon" Debra Causey; special aunts, Mary Martin and Karen Merck (Elvis), many aunts and uncles; cousins, Joseph and Janey Merck, his paternal grandparents, Robert "Peanut" Huggins (Gina) and Robin Hill (Daryl); and many other special extended family members and close friends.

A celebration of Chance's life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins with Reverend Dale Willoughby and Reverend Benji Hutson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
