Mullins-

Clara Edwards Webster, 85, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Carolinas Hospital System of Marion. She was born in Horry County on October 18, 1931, the daughter of the late Walter Minton and Jessie Roberts Edwards. Clara was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She exemplified this devotion through her many acts of caring and love that she showed others. She enjoyed gardening, was a wonderful cook and talented seamstress who did beautiful handwork. She worked for over thirty years as a teller, and later as an administrative assistant at Anderson Brothers Bank.

Clara was predeceased in addition to her parents, by her husband, Samuel Redden Webster, Jr, her beloved daughter, Faye Hardwick Battle and two brothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce H. (Robert "Butch") Gardner of North Myrtle Beach and Stella H. (William "Bill") Currin of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Ashley Bolin Gardner, Lawson Franklin Battle, Rebecca Page Battle, William Senter (Tammy) Currin, Jr. and Grayson Haver (Tina) Currin; and two great-grandchildren, Cassie Lynn Currin and Emma Claire Currin.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017 in the Fellowship Hall of Mullins First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church directed by Meares Funeral Home of Mullins. Entombment will be at Red Hill Memorial Gardens.
