Dorothy Hemby Creech, 94, wife of the late George Carroll Creech, of LaGrange, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 01, 2017. Dorothy was born on October 8, 1922 in Wayne County, North Carolina to the late Noah Robert and Addie Harrison Hemby. She graduated from Wheat Swamp High School after which she married and became a homemaker. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, sewing, and cooking. Dorothy was a member of Institute United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by six brothers, Ray Pollock Hemby, Lloyd Hemby, Floyd Hemby, Wayne Hemby, James Travis Hemby and Rogers Worth Hemby; and one sister, Nellie Jane Murray.

Mrs. Creech is survived by her son, Floyd C. Creech and wife, Marilyn of Mullins, South Carolina; and daughter, Dorothy C. Finch and husband, Kenneth of Irmo, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Gabriel Creech and wife, Erin, Seth Creech, Grace Creech Burton and husband, Hunter, and Carter Finch.

A graveside service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, North Carolina. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside service.
