Douglas Mason McColl, 62, of Mullins, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 19, 2020. He was born in Dillon, S.C., the son of Richard Wesley McColl and Dorothy Geiger McColl. Doug possessed a loving and giving heart, which manifested itself most purely with his soulmate, Rhonda, his children and grandchildren. His hobbies and interests were many, ranging from Clemson sports, camping, lifting weights, yardwork, to the serenity of the outdoors. Be it paddleboarding, grilling, visiting the ocean, or camping with Rhonda, he found himself at home. His sense of humor will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved him.

Doug was predeceased by his father and mother; a brother, Jimmy McColl; and his mother-in-law, Gloria Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Hill McColl of Mullins; two sons, Douglas Wesley McColl and his wife, Krista, of Charleston; and Matthew Joseph McColl and his wife, Ryn, of Florence; his precious grandchildren, Margaret Jude McColl and Julian Douglas McColl; a brother, John McColl and his wife, Joanne, of Dillon; nieces and nephews; and many special extended family members.

A funeral service for the family will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 21, 2020 in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home with Reverend Albert Grice officiating. The family will lay Doug to rest at McMillan Cemetery.
