Nichols-

Dorothy Earline Drew, 86, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Conway Manor. She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Dan and Maude Collins Barnhill. Mrs. Drew spent twenty-eight years working in the cafeteria at Green Sea Floyds Elementary School. She had an unwavering faith in God and loved her church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her pets. Prior to her declining health, she devoted much of her time to doing for others.

She was predeceased in addition to her parents, by her husband, Laverne Drew; seven brothers, J.C., Beamon, Penny, D.C., Vernon, Kermit, and James Barnhill, and one sister, Bernice Prince.

She is survived by a son, Dennis Laverne Drew of Nichols; a special niece, Donna Causey, and many other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins and at other times at the home of Donnie and Shirley Strickland, 2300 Carolina Road, Nichols, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19th in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols.
