Mullins-

Edward M. "Eddie" Spivey, 67, of Mullins passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mullins, the son of the late Edward M. "Ed" and Bernice McMillan "Bebe" Spivey. Eddie's love for God, his wife, children, and grandchildren showed daily in the way he lived his life. He was a humble man, who loved his friends, and the town of Mullins. An avid outdoorsman, Eddie spent many hours hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He could often be found shagging with his beloved, Gloria, or riding around in one of his classic Chevrolets.

Eddie is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Gloria Sealey Spivey; a daughter, Kirteena D. Spivey of Nichols; a son, Edward S. "Spider" Spivey and his wife, Kyra of Mullins; a brother, Lon M. Spivey and his wife, Karen of Mullins; a sister, Janet S. Rogers and her husband, James of Mullins, and five grandchildren, Skylar Sanders, Briar Spivey, Gage Sanders, Jessley Spivey, and Sealey Spivey.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20th at Mullins First Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Cedardale Cemetery in Mullins.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Eddie's memory to Wildlife Action, P.O. Box 866, Mullins, South Carolina 29574, or to a charity of one's choice.
