Mullins- Mrs. Elizabeth Graham Shorty McMillan, 81, died peacefully Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Mullins Nursing Center surrounded by her children. She was born October 27, 1929 in Camden, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Julian C. and Elizabeth Graham. She was a graduate of Camden High School and received her degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina. She was a retired registered nurse who had a long career in many different fields of nursing. Mrs. McMillan was a member of the Mullins Presbyterian Church and was involved in many church and community activities. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, Garden Club Member, and an avid bridge player and sports fan. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Julian and Elizabeth Graham, her brother, J.C. Graham, Jr., and Douglas W. McMillan, the father of her children. Mrs. McMillan is survived by her four children, Sallie (Ed) OBrien of Charleston, Pattie (Eddie) Pittman of Mullins, Jeannie (Mark) Baker of Richmond, Virginia, and Doug (Angie) McMillan of Mullins; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Mullins Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Mullins Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 671, Mullins, S.C. 29574 or to a charity of ones choice.
