“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13-14
For almost nine wonderful months, Ellis Hudson Waller brought sunshine, laughter, and love beyond measure into the lives of his family. Born February 3, 2026, in Conway, South Carolina, he was the son of Rand Ellis Waller and Ashley Hudson Waller. Though his earthly journey was brief, his life held a purpose far greater than its length. He reminded those around him of the beauty of unconditional love, the preciousness of each passing moment, and the blessings found in the smallest things.
Ellis was just pure joy. With his precious smile, he made everyone he met feel happy, whether it was a family member or just some stranger in the grocery store. He loved The Price is Right, watching the water in the channel behind his home, his lion lovey, and babbling to anyone who would listen. His favorite thing, however, was his nighttime routine…bath, bottle, book with his mommy and daddy. Almost nine months in our arms and forever in our hearts.
As Ellis was welcomed into Heaven and into the arms of Jesus, his paternal grandmother, Debra Meares Waller, gently received him and now holds him close.
In addition to his parents, he is remembered by his maternal grandparents, Dwayne and Haley Hudson; his paternal grandfather, John Henry Waller, Jr.; aunts, Courtney Hudson and Melissa Waller Graham (Larry); uncles, John Henry Waller III (Nicole), and Ryan Meares Waller (Leigh), his special great-grandparents, and numerous cousins, great-aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. A celebration of life for Ellis will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel with Reverend John Goudelock officiating. Rand and Ashley will lay their son to rest in a private interment.
The family requests that donations be made in memory of Ellis to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
An online guestbook is available at www.mearesfh.com.
Heaven has welcomed a precious child, and our hearts hold tightly to the promise that this goodbye is not forever. We will carry you in our hearts until we can hold you in Heaven.
