Galivants Ferry- Ernest Teenie Johnson, 82, died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, N.C. Born in Laurinburg, he was the son of the late Monroe and Flossie Martin Johnson. He was a quiet, humble man who dearly loved his family. Mr. Johnson was predeceased by his wife, Elnita Rabon Johnson, two brothers, Bernice and A.M. Johnson, a sister, Mary Johnson and a stepdaughter, Retha Skipper. He is survived by a stepdaughter, Charity Herring of Conway, a beloved sister, Agnes J. Chestnut of Galivants Ferry; several nieces and nephews; three step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2013 in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
