Obituary

Eulalee Christmas Dozier, 88, of Mullins passed away peacefully into the arms of her waiting Savior on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center. She was born in Marion County on January 2, 1934, the daughter of the late Charlie Christmas and the late Sallie Moore Christmas.

Eulalee grew up in a large family as one of eight children. She learned at an early age the deep connection of love and family, and she carried this with her throughout her life as she married and raised her own family. A graduate of Mullins High School, Eulalee met and married the love of her life, Johnny M. Dozier and together they had two children, Gail and Gregg. While Gregg was in high school, Eulalee decided to return to school, and later graduated from Francis Marion University with a degree in Elementary Education. This led her to a long and fulfilling career as a second grade teacher and a second mom to many at North Mullins Primary School. She also enjoyed attending Greg's ballgames, both when he was a player and after he became a coach. Following her retirement, she took several culinary classes and enjoyed baking for her family. Her greatest pleasure came from traveling with her husband. One of the highlights of her times of traveling was being baptized in the Jordan River. She was a longtime member of Mullins First Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. Eulalee doted on her family and was happiest when they surrounded her.

In addition to her parents, Eulalee was predeceased by her beloved husband, Johnny M. Dozier; two brothers, Burnell Christmas and Charlie Christmas, and a sister, Jo Rogers.

She is survived by a son, Johnny Gregory Dozier and his wife, San; a daughter, Gail Dozier Strickland, all of Mullins; four grandchildren, Laura Brown (Timmy), Pepper Strickland, Kelsey Connor (Dustin), and Karlee Dozier; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Mashburn, Cole Page, Joseph Connor, and Nolan Connor, four sisters, Sallie Rising of Mullins, Frankie Worrell (John) of Mullins, Lorraine Brown of Mullins, and Charlotte Baxley (Mike) of Brevard, North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as Beverly Cook and Teresa Jonson who provided Eulalee with love and excellent care as her health declined.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2022 in the Fellowship Hall of Mullins First Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday in the sanctuary of the church with Reverend Robbie Baxley officiating. The family will lay their mother to rest at Cedardale Cemetery.

If you would like to remember Eulalee, the family suggests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Mullins First Baptist Church Christian Life Center, P. O. Box 433, Mullins, South Carolina 29574.
