Evelyn J. Brown, 81, of Nichols passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 at MUSC Health Marion Medical Center.  She was born in Horry County on December 11, 1938, the daughter of the late Wally Jackson and Emma Wiggins Jackson.  Evelyn was devoted to her family and loved them all dearly.  She also loved her extended family at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and working in the flowers in her garden.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roy Brown; two brothers, Buddy Jackson and Jimmy Jackson, and a sister, Betty Lewis.

She is survived by a son, Greg Brown and his wife, Diana of Nichols; a daughter, Tammy Joe Brown of Tabor City, NC; a brother, Rudy Jackson of Nichols; two sisters, Mary King of Nichols and Emma Jean Capps of Mullins, and two grandchildren, Gregory Allen Brown, Jr. of Dillon and Shawn Brown of Latta.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in the sanctuary of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.  The funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church with Reverend Maxie Hardee and Reverend Alvin Jackson officiating.  Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.  We respectfully ask that you follow all social distancing guidelines.
