Nichols
Florence Rivenbark Ammons, 98, of Nichols passed away peacefully into the arms of her waiting Savior on Friday, June 5, 2020 with her beloved granddaughter, Vickie by her side. She was born in Burgaw, North Carolina on November 29, 1921, the daughter of the late Timothy Rivenbark and the late Annie Jane Johnson Rivenbark. Mrs. Ammons loved life, loved her family and most of all, she loved the Lord. These things allowed her to live a long full life. She loved to fish and sew. She assisted in making the curtains that went in President and Mrs. Roosevelt's home as Mrs. Roosevelt advocated for women in the workplace. She will be greatly missed.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Baker Ammons, a daughter, Judy Snipes, and a granddaughter, Jill Fountain.
She is survived by a daughter, Frances Greene of Lumberton, NC; four grandchildren, Vickie Elliott (Timothy) of Nichols, Sandy Mercure of Lumberton, Arista Snipes of Nichols and Baker Snipes of Timmonsville, four great-grandchildren, Madison Mercure, Savannah Mercure, Caroline Fountain, and Jamison Fountain, and a great-great granddaughter, Savannah Snipes.
