Obituary

Frances Lillie Britt Brown, 79, of Fort Mill, South Carolina (formerly of Nichols, SC), passed away peacefully at her residence with her son and daughter by her side. She was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on April 24, 1943, the daughter of the late Gomez and Inez Floyd Britt.

Frances loved gardening and flowers and was the happiest when her hands were in the dirt. She also enjoyed arranging flowers. At one time, she worked at a florist where she was able to display her talent. This love for making things grow introduced her to homeopathic medicine. She enjoyed reading and learning about new things and had an extensive collection of books about her many interests. She also enjoyed crafts, painting and was a master seamstress. Her true calling, however, was that of a healthcare worker. Frances had a caregiver's heart. She helped her patients maintain a level of independence during their greatest time of need, which in turn allowed them to gracefully accept the care and assistance she lovingly offered.

Frances grew up in a large, close family. There was nothing she enjoyed more than to be surrounded by those she loved. Many memories were made through the years, and she leaves a legacy of the importance of family and compassion for others.

Frances is survived by her loving children, Joseph Kacperski, Jr, and his wife, Jami of Fort Worth, Texas and Rebecca Grant and her husband, Ken of Marion; four brothers, Floyd Britt (Emmogene) of Nichols, Forrest Britt (Joy) of Richburg, SC, David Britt of Nichols, and Phillip Britt (Cathy) of Rock Hilll; a sister, Emma Vaughn (Glenn) of Rock Hill; three grandchildren, Jo Jo, Johnathon, and Jessi Kacperski, four great-grandchildren, Corbin, Griffin, Grayson, and Charli Kacperski, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home with Reverend David Sealy officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols.
