Nichols- George Mincey, 67, passed away at his home in Nichols. He was born in Horry County, a son of the late Gary and Pearl Jones Mincey. George was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Lacy Mincey. Mr. Mincey is survived by his wife, Patricia Mincey of Nichols; a daughter, Jodie Mincey of Nichols; two sons, Rex Mincey of Florence and Shane Mincey of Nichols; a brother, Carlisle Mincey and his wife, Janet of Nichols; two grandchildren, Codie Hewitt and Chance Mincey and Chances mother, Angie Duncan, and nieces and a nephew. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home of Mullins. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
