George Rogers, 84, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Dillon County, the son of the late Lacy and Cora Nelson Rogers. Mr. Rogers was a graduate of Spartanburg School for the Deaf and Blind and retired from Keys Printing Company. He loved to fish and tinker with things, spending many hours fixing things around the house.

Mr. Rogers was predeceased in addition to his parents, by his daughter-in-law, Robyn McLean Rogers.

He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-five years, Josephine Rogers of Fork; a son, Nelson Rogers of Lake View; a daughter, Elaine Rogers (David) Knox of Hickory, NC; five grandchildren, Jessica and Jared Rogers, and Felicia, Vanessa, and David Knox, and two great-grandchildren, Hannah Chapman and Elayna Knox.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m., February 2nd, in the chapel of the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in George's memory to the Spartanburg School for the Deaf and Blind, 355 Cedar Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
