Georgie Hutchinson Goodyear, 91, of Nichols passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Mullins Nursing Center surrounded by the family that she loved and that loved her. She was born in Nichols, South Carolina, a daughter of the late William Vernon Hutchinson and Mary Viola Ford Hutchinson. Mrs. Goodyear was devoted to her family and she cherished the time that she spent with them. Prior to her illness, she was very involved in her church, Nichols United Methodist Church. She was a retired educator, having spent many years as a reading consultant in the Mullins School District.

Mrs. Goodyear was predeceased, in addition to her parents, by her beloved husband, James Evan Goodyear, Sr. and by seven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Wayne Goodyear (Becky) of Chester, Jim Goodyear (Betha) of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Elly Goodyear of Summerton; a daughter, Vi Baucom of Summerton; four grandchildren, Julie Hill, John Goodyear, Lauren Simmons, and Jayme Goodyear; six great-grandchildren, Alex Hill, Wriley Hill, Evan Goodyear, Madison Simmons, Mason Simmons, and Alessia Goodyear.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018 in the sanctuary of Nichols United Methodist Church. A service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church. Burial will be private.

The family would like to thank Patricia Jacobs and the staff of Mullins Nursing Center for the love and care they provided for their loved one.
