Mullins- Gertrude Roberts Alford, 86, of Mullins died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Carolinas Hospital System in Marion. She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Hannibal H. and Sallie Stroud Roberts. Mrs. Alford was predeceased by her husband, Lonnie Dolphus Alford. She is survived by one son, Chandis (Barbara Anne) Alford of Summerville; four daughters, Wanda (Scott) Poindexter of Timmonsville; Heide (Worth) Johnson of Pawleys Island, Rhonda (Tim) Glancy of North Myrtle Beach, and Kim (Perry) Singleton of Conway; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m., Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial at Red Hill Memorial Gardens.
