Gordon M. Elliott, 72, of Mullins passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center with his beloved daughter, Amy, by his side.  He was born in Mullins, South Carolina on May 21, 1948, the son of the late Leneau Elliott and the late Eloise Collins Elliott.  Gordon, along with his late wife, Kathleen, owned and operated Nichols Transport in Mullins for many years. He had a passion for racing and attended many car races as a spectator and car owner which his son, Michael, drove for Elliott Motorsports.  Gordon loved living on the river, his family and his dog, BeBe.

In addition to his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen Buffkin Elliott and a brother, Jerry Elliott.

He is survived by his children, Michael Elliott (Kimberly Byrd) of Nichols and Amy Elliott Herrington (Jimmy) of Mullins; a brother, Jim Elliott (Jenny) of Mullins; a sister, Joyce Long of Hartsville; two grandchildren, Taylor Herrington and Avery Elliott, and his beloved Maltese, Bebe.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2020 in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Burleson and Reverend B.J. Hucks officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.  We respectfully request that social distancing be practiced at the service. The family will have a committal service at Palmetto Memorial Gardens.
