Obituary

Grace Hinson Grice, 91, of Mullins passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. She was born in Horry County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Lacy Hardwick and the late Agatha Johnson Hardwick.

Grace dedicated her life to her church, her family, and her profession. She exemplified the qualities of a true spiritual woman and lived her life by her strong Christian values. She loved the Lord, her church, and her church family at Mullins First Baptist Church. A member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, the Young at Heart Choir, and the Adult Choir, she enjoyed sharing God's love through music and fellowship.

Grace was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that cherished her family, and she considered them her greatest blessing. Her spirit will live on in each of them, and her legacy of love and grace will forever be a guide for them. She enjoyed traveling and going with the groups that Hal Norton would take on various occasions. Her grandchildren would sometimes accompany her on those trips creating wonderful memories for them. She also loved to knit and cheering on the Gamecocks and Atlanta Braves.

For sixty-six years, Grace worked with Kenneth Cobb and Company completing various financial related tasks. She won the trust and hearts of many as she assisted them in their personal accounting matters.

Grace was predeceased by her first husband, Ernest Hinson, her second husband, Ed Grice, a son, Ernie Hinson; a brother, J.L. Hardwick and his wife, Zip; her sister, Helen Smith and her husband, Rupert, and a niece, Jeanne Webster.

She is survived by her beloved son, Randy Hinson and his wife, Mary Lynn; a daughter-in-law, Sherrie Hinson both of Mullins; four grandchildren, Christie Baker (Johnny), Hollie Kennedy, Sallie Hinson (Devon), and Chad Hinson (Jordan); ten great-grandchildren, Brock, Savanna, Lauryn, Pressley, Haven, Easton, Abby, Jack, Hazel, and Henleigh; a niece, Susan Hardwick Ford (Travis), and a nephew, Smitty Smith.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023 in the Fellowship Hall of Mullins First Baptist Church.
