Harlan T. Floyd, 80, of Loris and formerly of Nichols, passed away peacefully Friday, December 6, 2019 at Conway Medical Center with his family by his side.  He was born in Nichols on November 12, 1939, a son of the late U.T. and Nina Mincey Floyd.

Following his graduation from the University of South Carolina, Harlan began working at First Citizens Bank in Nichols.  He had a long and rewarding career in the banking industry and retired from First Citizens. During this time, he was active in the Civitans and was a former President of the Board of Directors of Pineland Country Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and golfing.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kay Barfield Floyd; his son, Chris Floyd, both of Loris, and a brother, Danny Floyd of Charleston.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2019 at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols with Reverend Jim Kirkland officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
