Harvey Eldon Hill, 84, of Nichols passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon. He was born in Horry County, the son of the late Charlie and Golda Stroud Hill. A lifelong farmer, he spent many years farming in the Cades community. Mr. Hill was predeceased in addition to his parents, by his wife of fifty years, Minnette H. Hill, by a son, Michael Douglas Hill; by a brother, Randall Elijah Hill, his sisters, Verdie Braswell and Bonnie Clark, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Huggins. Surviving Mr. Hill are two sons, Jeffrey Darryl (Angela) Hill of Hemingway and Daniel Eldon (Janet) Hill of Lake City; two daughters, Cynthia Hill (Mitch) Fry of Oak Hill, VA and Barbara Hill Huggins of Nichols; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Sarah Rebecca Hill of Greer. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2015 in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Nichols.
