Mullins-

Helen Pace Mayers, 87, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. She was born in Marion County, a daughter of the late Daniel Rembert Pace Sr. and Era Estelle Price Pace. Mrs. Helen will always be remembered for her sweet and gentle nature, her devotion to her family, and her love for her church and her Savior.

She was predeceased, in addition to her parents, by her beloved husband of over sixty-five years, Cornelius W. Buck Mayers; a son, Dr. Craig Mayers, and a brother, Dr. Daniel R. Pace, Jr.

Mrs. Helen is survived by a daughter, Joan M. Turner of Mullins; one granddaughter, Ashley Turner Doyle of Charleston, two great-granddaughters, Estelle and Eliza Doyle, and a close family friend, Jeanette Pace.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2014 at Macedonia United Methodist Churchs Christ Prayer Chapel directed by Meares Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedardale Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the Mayers home, 207 Azalea Drive in Mullins.
