Hilda Letchworth Ramsey, 89, of Mullins, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Carolinas Hospital System of Marion. She was born in Arba, North Carolina on October 7, 1928, the daughter of the late Enoch and Lola Letchworth. Hilda was married to Forrest Ramsey, former Mayor of Mullins, for almost sixty years. A faithful Christian, she was a dedicated worker at the Beacon Soup Ministry of Mullins First Baptist Church and a member of North Mullins Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and personality, her passion for life and her desire to help others.

Mrs. Ramsey was predeceased in addition to her parents, by two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Jim (Leslie) Ramsey of Chicago and Art (Jane) Ramsey of Mullins; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Red Hill Memorial Gardens with her son, Reverend Art Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. Mrs. Ramsey is in the care of Meares Funeral Home of Mullins.

In lieu of food and flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in her memory to North Mullins Baptist Church, P.O. Box 52, Mullins, South Carolina 29574.
