Obituary

Our Lord and Savior welcomed Dr. Huey Giles Bullock into his heavenly home on August 31, 2021. Dr. Bullock was born in Mullins, South Carolina on December 3, 1943, the only son of the late Margaret Huggins Bullock and the late Hubert Giles Bullock.

Dr. Bullock graduated from Floyds High School in 1962. He received his B.S. degree from Clemson University in 1965. While at Clemson, he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society. He received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1969. His internship was performed at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Virginia (1969-1970). In 1970, Dr. Bullock joined the United States Air Force and served until 1972. He earned the rank of Captain. Upon his discharge, he moved to Fair Bluff, North Carolina, and practiced general medicine until 1979. At that time, Dr. Bullock relocated to Augusta, Georgia, and pursued a residency in diagnostic radiology. He completed his residency at the Medical College of Georgia in 1982. In that same year, he joined Brown & Radiology Associates and practiced there for 35 years. Dr. Bullock prided himself on never missing a day of work

Dr. Bullock is survived by his loving wife, Valerie Oldham Bullock. He was blessed with six children, Jacquetta Bullock, Deana Bullock Gasque (Jim), Huey Giles Bullock, II, (Amy), Jennifer Bullock Perreault (Charlie), Stacie Bullock Wheatley (Allen), and William Carlton (Jamie). He also precedes his beloved niece and nephews, Margol Elvington, Harold Elvington (Sharon), and Hugh Elvington (Susanne). Huey had many beautiful grandchildren: John Reeves and Thomas David Gasque, Jacob Giles and Abigail Grace Bullock, Ellison Giles and Louisa Anne Perreault, Elise Rae and David Allen Wheatley. He joins his sister, Mary Ann Elvington, in heaven, whom we know welcomed him with open arms, a big grin, and her epic laugh.

Dr. Bullock was as fun as he was driven to succeed. He was an animal lover, an outdoorsman, a captivating storyteller, a proud conservative, and a huge Clemson football fan. He will be greatly missed.

The family will lay Dr. Bullock to rest in a private committal service with military honors in the Old Bullock Section of Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Nichols, South Carolina.
