Hunter Anne
Britt
Jun 10, 1997 — Jan 24, 2020
Nichols
Hunter Anne Britt, 22, of Nichols left her loving family and passed away into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday, January 24, 2020. She was born in Fort Polk, Louisiana on June 10, 1997, the daughter of Retired Sergeant David and Kimberly Britt.
Hunter was a Senior at Francis Marion University where she was majoring in Spanish and Political Science. A very bright young woman, she was fluent in three languages and conversational in five languages. Her love for others was immense regardless of ethnicity or cultural background. Hunter was very culturally competent, and it was her desire to one day work for the United Nations to make the world a better place. She recently fulfilled a lifelong dream and traveled to Germany, France and Mexico. Hunter loved the arts and enjoyed painting, sketching, and drawing. She had a beautiful voice and often commented she was a one person play when she would sing every character herself from the Broadway musical, Hamilton. She was a cast member in three musicals and a play at Thomas Nelson Community College, in Hampton, Virginia, including Cinderella, Dracula, and The Sound of Music. Also, she loved animals, especially cats.
Hunter was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Gomez and Inez Britt and her maternal grandfather, James Howard Flowers II.
She is survived by her parents, David and Kimberly Britt, a sister, Ana Marie Britt; a brother, Clay G. Britt (Debbie Locke); her grandparents, Floyd and Emmogene Britt and her maternal grandmother, Lucinda Stroud, all of Nichols. She leaves behind two cats, Chewy and Lilibet.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home with Reverend David Sealy and Reverend Shawn Brashear officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. The family will lay Hunter to rest in a private committal service at Riverside Cemetery.
If you would like to remember Hunter, the family suggests that memorials be made in her memory to Wannamaker Baptist Church, 3985 Duford Road, Nichols, South Carolina 29581 where she was a member or to the Hunter Britt International Fund established in her memory with the Francis Marion University Foundation to support study abroad opportunities for all students wishing to study abroad and International student costs.
