Inita Ivey Ford, 98, of Nichols, passed away peacefully Friday, April 11, 2025, at Shoreland Health Care in Whiteville, North Carolina. She was born in Columbus County, North Carolina on June 5, 1926, the daughter of the late Hobson Ivey and the late Minta Williamson Ivey.

Inita lived a long life marked by unwavering faith and a deep love for her Lord. She found solace and strength in her relationship with Him. She was a member of Wannamaker Baptist Church. Prior to her declining health, Inita enjoyed doing for others. She was an excellent cook and loved for others to visit. You could always expect to have a good meal and leave with something to take home. She loved her family and will always be remembered for her warm and caring ways.

In addition to her parents, Inita was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Ford, four brothers, Hobson, William, Ben, and Roosevelt Ivey, three sisters, Eunice Williamson, Phyllis Williamson, and Lillie Jane Nance.

She is survived by a special niece, Carol Nance Floyd and her husband, Morris, and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home in Mullins with Reverend Shawn Brashear officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols.
