Nichols- Irene Elliott Floyd, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the home of her nephew, Jimmy Elliott who along with his wife, Jennie, took care of Mrs. Irene after her health declined. She was born in Horry County, the daughter of the late Levi and Anna Ransom Elliott. Mrs. Floyd loved the Lord and was a lifetime member of Floyds United Methodist Church. Mrs. Floyd was predeceased by her husband, Chester Floyd; four brothers, Elmore, Johnny, Palmer, and Laneau Elliott and three sisters, Golda Drew, Meekie Strickland, and Reba Rushing. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 28, 2014 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols.
