Mullins- Irene Stroud, 85, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 27, 2013. She was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late James Montgomery and Minnie Hodges Jernigan. Mrs. Stroud was predeceased by her husband, Robert Bruce Stroud, Sr., a son, Robert Bruce Stroud, Jr., an infant daughter, Ophelia Stroud, three brothers, Linburg Jernigan, A.G. Jernigan, and Roosevelt Pete Jernigan, and a sister, Ester Stroud. She is survived by two sons, Carlyle (Joyce) Stroud of Nichols and Donald Stroud of Mullins; two daughters, Corene Small of Mullins and Flourine Dimmery of Mullins; one brother, James Montgomery (Joyce) Jernigan, Jr. of Denton, N.C.; one sister, Dolly Leonard of Denton, N.C.; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2013 in the chapel of the funeral home with burial in Devotion Gardens.
