James M. Stroud, 81, died Thursday, November 8, 2012 at his home. He was born in Marion County, a son of the late Bunyan and Dolly Small Stroud. Mr. Stroud was predeceased by his wife, Inez Floyd Stroud, son, J.R. Stroud, daughter, Becky Stroud, brother, Lester Stroud,and a sister, Elizabeth Floyd. He is survived by two sons, Buddy Stroud of Nichols and Jimmy (Connie) Stroud of Loris; three daughters, Bonnie Stroud of Conway, Doris Ann Hill of Loris, and Barbara Stroud of Loris; two sisters, Tina Evans of Phoenix, Arizona and Ellen (Dewayne) Bradley of Michigan; fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2012 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols. An online guest book is available at mearesfh.com.
