Mullins- Jay E. Kauffman, 65, passed away peacefully Friday, January 10, 2014 at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Ned Harris and Eva Penne Baker Kauffman. Jay enjoyed restoring old Ford Mustangs. He is survived by his wife, Mary Grace Kauffman of Mullins, a son, William James Kauffman of Andover, Connecticut; a daughter, Michelle Jeanette (Joseph) Nelson of Windsor Locks, Connecticut; and four grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan Kauffman, Dillon James Kauffman, Anthony James Nelson and Taylor Nicole Nelson, all of Connecticut.
