Jeffery "Jeff" Hinds Smith, 60, lifelong resident of Mullins, SC, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 16, 2022. He was the son of the late Haskell Page Smith and Cadell Hinds Smith.

Jeff graduated from Mullins High School and Florence-Darlington Tech, where he received a degree in welding. He was employed by Georgetown Steel, worked security at numerous condominium properties in Myrtle Beach, and retired from Walmart after 20 years of service.

As a lifelong member of Mullins First Baptist Church, Jeff attended the Wednesday evening services and was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Nothing gave Jeff greater pleasure than helping his father on the farm and driving the old, red tractor. He loved anything Elvis, pickup trucks, fishing and old Western movies. Above all, he cherished his animals, including his dog, Mutt, and his horses, Sugar Babe, Scout and White Cloud. Jeff's favorite holiday was Christmas, and he will always be remembered for spreading joy as a Walmart "Santa Claus".

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Haskell Smith. He is survived by his mother, Cadell Smith; his brother, H. P. "Smitty" Smith (Kathryn) of Charlotte, NC; his nephew, Alec P. Smith of New York, NY; his niece, Kari M. Smith of Charlotte, NC; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service to celebrate Jeff's life will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Mullins First Baptist Church. Following the service, the family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jeff's memory to the Caregivers committee at the Mullins First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 433, Mullins, South Carolina 29574.
