Jimmy
Stroud
Feb 6, 1935 — Aug 22, 2021
Nichols
Jimmy Thurston Stroud, 86, of Nichols passed away peacefully at MUSC Health Marion Medical Center on Sunday, August 22, 2021. He was born in Horry County on February 6, 1935, the son of the late Solon David Stroud and the late Ada Rowell Stroud.
Jimmy was a faithful and longtime member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and an avid gardener for most of his adult life. Friends and neighbors would often find him at their door to share his harvest from the garden with them. Another favorite pastime of his was fox hunting, which began when he was a young man hunting with his father. He has continued this tradition with his great-grandson, Case, making many memories together. Jimmy made many friends through the years in his various jobs. A believer in hard work, he found it very difficult to retire. Through the years, he worked with FCX which later became Gold Kist. He later joined the staff at Ace Hardware in Mullins, where he worked for over twenty-four years. His work on Earth is now done, and God has welcomed him home to rest.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his beloved wife, Annie, two brothers, David Stroud and Harold Stroud.
He is survived by his daughter, Pam Stroud, two sons, Greg Stroud of Nichols and Anthony Stroud of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Ashleigh Holmes and Blair Barfield, and three great-grandchildren, Case and Becca Faye Holmes and Lakelyn Barfield.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in the sanctuary of Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Dale Willoughby and Reverend Maxie Hardee officiating.
